"discovering waterfront"(silverstein)
i didn't get to post over the weekend because i went home again to cavite.i didn't
do anythin' much i just hang around with my cousins, played some nba live on the
pc (which i got my butt-kicked once again), read some comics & magazines
related to comics and watch some TV. here are some of the shows which i
watched...
stranger. the magic of erik mana.
i saw this show last Friday. I was just channel surfing to put myself to sleep when i stumbled upon this show. this show was like that of david blaine only on philippine soil and with filipinos.(if im not mistaken, Eric the host, is also a Filipino) the show was nicely done. it was done like david blaine's show when he performs magic tricks to strangers he meets on the streets.
he did lots of card tricks.what i liked the best was when he asks this girl to sign on his card with her name and ask her to put it back on his deck.he shuffles his cards then asks the girl to look for her card.she didn't get to see her card then eric asks her to go to the stire behind her and ask for a block of ice.she did and when she got her ice the card was inside and all i can think of is:"how did he do that?"i know magic requires tricks but he really performs well and it makes me wonder was it a set-up or just pure magic?hmmmmm....
the thing i find unbelievable on his show was his segment on hypnosis or mind control. he gathers this group of people in a bar, puts them to sleep and played around with them. he makes them see their greatest fear, freak them out, made a glass of ice tea the strongest alcohol drink and other stuff by merely saying it.im not easily convinced coz what if these people were just acting or just playing their part. what made me doubt was this bald guy who's like over-acting coz he's really exaggerated about the things happening around him and almost reacts to every trick done.its not that im not that i dont believe in such act(some of my friends even tell me that hypnosis is true)its just im not convienced with their performance so to speak.
his last trick would be the best for me.he ask for viewers watching at home to participate.he asks his viewers to choose a card among the set of cards and point in the television screen.he gave instructions to move the card around anywhere except diagonally.he would guess where the viewer would end up.as he counts the viewer(myself)moves around in the cards.as the trick progresses he removes out cards which he felt that you already passed by.cards after cards are taken away and in the end wherever you chose to go,wherever you started from, you'll end up in the center. man,i was so impressed!
some of his tricks are kinda doubtful and makes you think how did he
freakin do that?he never gave out the answer of course but all he said was "all you have to do is to believe..."would i believe?hmmmm....
the man himself...
UAAP
saturday afternoon.la salle versus adamson.i didnt get to watch the first half coz i was still busy playing nba live but i have a strong feeling that adamson would give la salle a good fight.and i was right!i was surprised to see that in the opening of the third quarter adamson leads.it was really a close game all through out.emotions were high, tension was building among the players and a fight almost break out.but in the end, only one was victorious.yes it was adamson.after 8 years of bowing down to la salle finally we were able to pull out a win.this win really signifies a good season for adamson.they are proving that after 2 winless seasons this year they are really among the contenders for the title.i just hope that they would fare well come the day they meet the eagles...but just like this game against la salle i just hope they could also pull out a win against ateneo.
